About this tool
Choose a video and press Process to get the same video with its audio track removed. The tool copies the video stream as-is with ffmpeg in WebAssembly (no re-encoding), so it is fast and the picture quality is unchanged. It runs in your browser and the file is not uploaded. The output is an MP4 named output.mp4. There are no options. The first run downloads the ffmpeg engine (about 25 MB) from a CDN, which can take from a few seconds to a minute on a slow connection; later runs on the same page reuse it.
How to use it
- Drop a video or choose a file.
- Press Process.
- Check the preview to confirm there is no sound.
- Press Download.
Common problems
- Processing fails for some files
- The video codec may not be allowed in an MP4 container. Convert it to MP4 with the Video Converter first.
- I want to keep the audio and remove the video
- Use Video to MP3 instead.
- It is slow, or the tab freezes or runs out of memory
- ffmpeg runs in a single browser thread on your device. Use a shorter or smaller file and close other heavy tabs.
