About this tool

Enter a start time and an optional end time in seconds, and the tool cuts that part of your video. It uses ffmpeg in WebAssembly with stream copy, so nothing is re-encoded: it is fast and there is no quality loss. The trade-off is that cuts land on keyframes, so the start can be a little earlier or later than you typed, or the first moments may be frozen or blank. The result is saved as MP4. It runs in your browser and the file is not uploaded. The first run downloads the ffmpeg engine (about 25 MB) from a CDN, which can take from a few seconds to a minute on a slow connection; later runs on the same page reuse it.

How to use it

  1. Drop a video or choose a file.
  2. Enter Start (s) in seconds; 0 is the beginning.
  3. Optionally enter End (s); leave empty to keep everything after the start.
  4. Press Process, then preview and Download (output.mp4).

Common problems

The cut is not at the exact second
Stream copy can only cut at keyframes. A frame-accurate cut needs re-encoding, which this tool does not do.
Processing fails on a WebM or other non-MP4 source
Some codecs cannot be copied into MP4. Convert to MP4 with the Video Converter first.
The end value seems off
Enter plain seconds, not mm:ss. If the length looks wrong, adjust End and run again.
