About this tool
Enter a start time and an optional end time in seconds, and the tool cuts that part out of your audio. It uses ffmpeg in WebAssembly with stream copy, so the audio is not re-encoded: it is fast and lossless, but cuts can land slightly off the exact time on some formats. If End is left empty, the clip runs to the end of the file. The output is always saved with an .mp3 extension. The first run downloads the ffmpeg engine (about 25 MB) from a CDN, which can take from a few seconds to a minute on a slow connection; later runs on the same page reuse it.
How to use it
- Drop an audio file or choose one.
- Enter Start (s) in seconds; 0 is the beginning.
- Optionally enter End (s); leave it empty to keep everything after the start.
- Press Process, then preview and Download.
Common problems
- Processing fails on a non-MP3 file
- The result is written as MP3 without re-encoding, so sources such as M4A or WAV may fail. Convert to MP3 first with the Audio Converter, then trim.
- The cut is a little off
- Stream copy cuts at the nearest frame boundary of the source, so expect small timing differences.
- I typed 1:30
- Use seconds only, for example 90.
