About this tool
Load an image, then drag across it to draw the area you want to keep. The selection shows its size in pixels of the original image, and a new drag replaces it. Press Crop & download to save the selected region as cropped.png at the original resolution, not the scaled-down size you see on screen. The tool works with a free-form rectangle; there are no fixed aspect ratios or resize handles. It runs entirely in your browser using a canvas, so your picture is never uploaded. The output is always PNG, so photos may be larger than the original JPEG.
How to use it
- Drop an image or choose a file.
- Drag over the image to select the area to keep.
- Check the pixel size shown next to the button.
- Press Crop & download.
Common problems
- Nothing downloads
- A selection must exist and be larger than about 2 pixels in each direction. Drag a visible box first.
- The selection cannot be adjusted
- There are no handles. Drag again to draw a new selection.
- The saved file is bigger than the original
- Output is PNG (lossless). Convert it to WebP or JPEG afterward if size matters.
