Convert Case of Text

About this tool
Change the capitalization of text with one choice from a list: lowercase, UPPERCASE, Title Case, camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, aLtErNaTiNg and iNVERSE cASE. The conversion runs in your browser and updates as you type or switch the option. Leading and trailing spaces are trimmed first. The programmer-style cases (camel, Pascal, snake, kebab) work on words separated by spaces, so they suit phrases and labels more than existing code identifiers.
How to use it
- Type or paste your text.
- Pick a case from the Case menu.
- Copy the converted text from the output box.
Example
With camelCase selected. snake_case would give hello_world_foo and kebab-case hello-world-foo.
hello world foo
helloWorldFoo
Common problems
- camelCase or PascalCase keeps unwanted capitals
- These two options do not lowercase the rest of each word, so "HELLO WORLD" becomes hELLOWORLD in camelCase. Convert to lowercase first, then pick the style.
- snake_case or kebab-case leaves punctuation in place
- Only whitespace is replaced. Punctuation stays, and existing camelCase words are not split, so "myVariable name" becomes "myvariable_name".
- Title Case capitalizes small words
- Every word gets a capital first letter and the rest is lowercased, including words like "of" and "the". Fix those by hand if your style guide requires it.
