Uses your device's built-in voices, so nothing is uploaded. Available voices and quality vary by browser and operating system.
About this tool
Read any text aloud using the voices already built into your browser and operating system. Pick a voice, adjust speed and pitch, and press Speak; you can pause and stop at any time. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no audio file to download — the speech is produced live on your device. Available voices and their quality differ between Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox and your OS.
How to use it
- Type or paste your text.
- Choose a voice (the list depends on your device).
- Adjust speed and pitch if you like.
- Press Speak; use Pause or Stop to control playback.
Common problems
- The voice list is empty
- Some browsers load voices a moment after the page. Wait a second or reload. On Linux you may need a speech engine installed.
- Wrong language or accent
- Pick a voice whose language matches the text; a mismatched voice reads it with the wrong pronunciation.
- Need an MP3
- This tool speaks live and cannot save audio. Use your device or a screen recorder if you need a recording.
