UUIDv4 Generator
Generate random version 4 UUIDs, up to 100 at a time.
Runs in your browser Your input never leaves your device.
About this tool
A UUID version 4 is a 128-bit identifier made from random numbers, written as 36 characters in the form xxxxxxxx-xxxx-4xxx-yxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx. Choose how many you want, from 1 to 100, and press Generate to get one per line. The tool uses your browser's built-in secure UUID generator, and falls back to a cryptographic random source if that is missing. UUIDs are created on your device and are never sent to or stored by our servers. Random UUIDs are unique in practice, but they are identifiers, not secrets, so do not use them as passwords or access tokens.
How to use it
- Enter how many UUIDs you need (1 to 100).
- Press Generate.
- Press Copy to take the list, one UUID per line.
- Press Generate again for a fresh set.
Common problems
- You need more than 100
- The tool limits each run to 100. Generate several batches and combine them.
- Need uppercase or no hyphens
- Output is lowercase with hyphens. Convert it with the Case Converter or remove the hyphens in your own code.
- UUID used as a secret
- Do not use a UUID as a password or API key. Use a password or secret key generator for that.
Frequently asked questions
Can two generated UUIDs be the same?
It is possible in theory but the chance is so small that random v4 UUIDs are treated as unique in practice.
