MD5 Generator
Calculate MD5 Hashes
Runs in your browser Your input never leaves your device.
About this tool
Type or paste text and get its MD5 hash as 32 hexadecimal characters. It updates as you type, and the text is converted to UTF-8 before hashing. The calculation runs in your browser with a small JavaScript implementation, so your text is not uploaded. MD5 is useful for checksums and matching existing systems, but it is broken for security purposes and should not be used for passwords or signatures.
How to use it
- Enter the text.
- Read the 32-character hash.
- Copy it.
Example
Input
hello
Result
5d41402abc4b2a76b9719d911017c592
Common problems
- Different result from another tool
- A trailing space or newline changes the hash. Make sure both sides hash exactly the same text.
- Empty output
- The output is empty when the input box is empty.
- Need a stronger hash
- Use the SHA generator for SHA-256 or higher.
