About this tool
Create a random password of your chosen length from the character sets you tick: lowercase, uppercase, digits and symbols. Length can be 4 to 256 (default 16). Press Generate for a new one. Characters are drawn with the browser's cryptographic random generator and nothing is sent to a server. Every password includes at least one character from each type you ticked, with the rest chosen randomly from the combined set, then shuffled. If you untick everything, lowercase letters are used.
How to use it
- Set the length.
- Tick the character types to include.
- Press Generate.
- Copy the password into your password manager.
Common problems
- Symbols not accepted by a site
- Symbols come from !@#$%^&*()-_=+[]{};:,.<>? . Untick Symbols if the site restricts them and use a longer password instead.
- Length is changed
- Values below 4 are raised to 4 and values above 256 are lowered to 256.
