SHA Generator

Calculate SHA Hashes

Runs in your browser Your input never leaves your device.

About this tool

Calculate a SHA hash of your text. Choose SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384 or SHA-512 and the result appears as you type, as lowercase hexadecimal. The text is encoded as UTF-8 and hashed with your browser's built-in Web Crypto, so nothing leaves your device. SHA-256 is the default. SHA-1 is kept for compatibility but is no longer considered secure against deliberate collisions. Hashing is one-way: you cannot recover the text from the hash.

How to use it

  1. Choose the algorithm.
  2. Type or paste your text.
  3. Copy the hash.

Look for extra spaces or a trailing newline, and check you picked the same algorithm.
