HTML Tags Stripper
Remove HTML tags from pasted text and keep the plain text between them.
Runs in your browser Your input never leaves your device.
About this tool
This tool removes HTML tags from the text you paste and leaves what was between them. Anything that starts with a less-than sign and ends with a greater-than sign is deleted, including attributes and closing tags. It is a quick text cleanup and not an HTML parser: script and style elements and HTML comments are removed together with their contents, and entities such as & are not converted back to symbols. Line breaks in your source are kept as they are. The work happens in your browser, so the HTML you paste is not sent anywhere.
How to use it
- Paste your HTML into the input box.
- The text without tags appears in the output.
- Press Copy to take the result.
Example
<p>Hello <b>world</b></p>
Hello world
Common problems
- Script or CSS code remains in the output
- Only the tags are removed, not the content between them. Delete script and style blocks from the input first.
- Entities like & or are still there
- The tool does not decode entities. Use an HTML entity decoder on the result.
- Text with a stray < sign loses content
- A < without a closing > swallows the rest of the text. Make sure plain text containing < is escaped or removed first.
