About this tool
Converts a WebP image into a .ico icon file. The picture is fitted inside a square without stretching, and a non-square image is centred with transparent padding. The ICO holds four standard sizes (16, 32, 48 and 256 pixels), each stored as a PNG-compressed icon image that keeps transparency, which is what favicon and Windows icon tools expect. Animated WebP files use a single still frame. Use this when a logo or avatar is available only in WebP and you need an icon for a desktop shortcut or favicon. Everything runs in your browser; the file is not uploaded.
How to use it
- Crop your WebP to a square if you want it to fill the icon.
- Drop the .webp file or choose it.
- Check the icon preview.
- Press Download.
Common problems
- Icon has empty bars at the sides
- Non-square images are letterboxed with transparent padding, not stretched. Crop to 1:1 first for a full-bleed icon.
- Icon looks soft
- Output is capped at 256 pixels, and images under 32 px are enlarged to 32.
- Animated WebP
- Only a still frame is drawn.
