About this tool
Paste a Base64 string or a full data URI and the tool decodes it, renders it on a canvas and offers it as a PNG download (image.png). If you paste raw Base64 without the data: prefix, the tool adds an image prefix for you and the browser detects the actual format. Because the result is a lossless PNG, transparency from the source image is kept. This is handy when you have an embedded image in CSS, JSON or an email template and want the actual file. Everything runs in your browser; the file is not uploaded.
How to use it
- Paste the data URI or raw Base64 text into the box.
- Press Render image.
- Check the preview.
- Press Download to save image.png.
Common problems
- Could not load the image
- Check for missing characters, line breaks inside the string, or quotes copied along with it. The string must be a complete image.
- Source was a JPG, now it is a PNG
- The image is re-encoded losslessly, so the file can be larger than the original JPEG, and it does not regain lost detail.
