About this tool
Paste a Base64 string, either a full data URI such as data:image/jpeg;base64,... or just the raw characters, and the tool decodes it, draws it on a white canvas and re-encodes it as a JPEG. A raw string with no prefix is treated as an image data URI, and the browser works out the real format from the bytes. Transparent areas become white, since JPEG has no transparency. Use it to check what an API response or an HTML/CSS embed actually contains, or to save it as a file. The result is a preview with a Download link (image.jpg). Everything runs in your browser; the file is not uploaded. There is no quality slider, so the browser's default JPEG quality is used.
How to use it
- Copy the Base64 text or data URI from your source.
- Paste it into the box.
- Press Render image.
- Check the preview, then press Download.
Common problems
- Could not load the image
- The string is probably truncated, has extra characters, or is not an image. Copy the whole value, without surrounding quotes.
- Transparent areas are white
- JPEG cannot hold transparency, so a transparent PNG source gets a white background. Use Base64 to PNG to keep it.
- The Base64 is of a PDF or text, not an image
- Only image data can be decoded here.
