About this tool
Convert torque between newton-meter (N·m), pound-foot (lb·ft), pound-inch (lb·in) and kilogram-meter (kg·m). It is handy for torque specifications on wheels, engines and bolts, where manuals may use N·m, lb·ft or lb·in depending on the market. Conversions pass through newton-meters using 1.35581795 for pound-feet, 0.112984829 for pound-inches and 9.80665 for kilogram-meters. Pound-feet should not be mixed up with foot-pounds of energy, which share the same dimensions but mean something different. Results show up to 8 decimals. There are no kilogram-centimeter or ounce-inch options.

Common problems
- Pound-feet and pound-inches mixed up
- 12 lb·in equals 1 lb·ft. A 100 lb·in reading is only about 8.3 lb·ft.
- Kilogram-meter is a force unit
- kg·m means kilogram-force meters, based on standard gravity of 9.80665 m/s².
- Torque is not energy
- Newton-meters here describe torque, not joules of energy.
