About this tool
Converts a Windows .ico icon file to a JPEG image. The browser reads the icon, draws it at its natural size and encodes it as JPEG with a Quality slider (0.1 to 1, default 0.85). Because JPEG has no transparency, transparent parts of the icon are filled with white. Icons are usually tiny, often 16 to 256 pixels, so the JPG will be small too. If your .ico holds several sizes, the tool converts a single image, whichever size the browser decodes. For crisp edges and transparency, ICO to PNG is usually the better choice. Everything runs in your browser; the file is not uploaded.
How to use it
- Drop a .ico file or choose one.
- Set Quality if you want to change it.
- Check the preview.
- Press Download to save ico-to-jpg.jpg.
Common problems
- White background around the icon
- JPEG cannot store transparency, so it is flattened onto white. Use ICO to PNG or WEBP to keep it.
- Edges look fuzzy or blocky
- JPEG compression is hard on sharp small graphics. Raise Quality toward 1.
- Result is very small
- The icon size is the output size. This tool does not enlarge images.
