Audio Volume Booster
Make an audio file louder with a volume multiplier and save it as MP3.
Runs in your browser Your input never leaves your device.
About this tool
Choose an audio file and enter a volume multiplier; the default is 1.5, so 1 keeps the level, 2 doubles the amplitude and values below 1 make it quieter. The tool applies ffmpeg's volume filter in WebAssembly and re-encodes to MP3, so the work stays in your browser and nothing is uploaded. There is no limiter: if the boost pushes peaks past full scale, the sound clips and distorts. Only audio files are accepted here, and the output is always MP3. The first run downloads the ffmpeg engine (about 25 MB) from a CDN, which can take from a few seconds to a minute on a slow connection; later runs on the same page reuse it.
How to use it
- Drop an audio file or choose one.
- Enter the Volume multiplier, for example 1.5 or 2.
- Press Process and wait for the progress bar.
- Play the preview to check for distortion, then Download.
Common problems
- The boosted audio sounds distorted
- The multiplier is too high for this recording and peaks are clipping. Lower it, for example from 3 to 1.8.
- I want to boost a video's sound
- The picker accepts audio files only. Extract the audio with Video to MP3 first.
- It is slow, or the tab freezes or runs out of memory
- ffmpeg runs in a single browser thread on your device. Use a shorter or smaller file and close other heavy tabs.
