About this tool

This page reads what your browser exposes to any website and shows it in a table. At the top it works out your browser name and version, operating system and device type (desktop, tablet or mobile) from the User-Agent string, and below that it lists the raw User-Agent, platform, language and language list, whether you are online and cookies are enabled, the Do Not Track flag, CPU core count, approximate device memory, screen size and color depth, the window size, pixel ratio, time zone and touch points. Each row has a Copy button. Everything is read locally by your browser and nothing is sent to our servers. A value shows a dash when your browser does not provide it; Safari and Firefox, for example, do not expose device memory. Detection is based on the User-Agent text, so a browser that disguises itself can be reported wrongly.

How to use it

  1. Open the page; the table fills in automatically.
  2. Read the Browser, Browser version, Operating system and Device type rows.
  3. Press Copy next to any value you need, for example when filing a bug report.
  4. Resize the window and reload to see the viewport size change.

Common problems

A row shows a dash
Your browser does not expose that value, which is common for device memory and some privacy settings.
The browser version looks frozen or generic
Some browsers reduce detail in the User-Agent string on purpose to limit fingerprinting. The OS version of macOS and some Windows versions is often reported generically.
Values differ from what you expected
Privacy extensions, private modes and desktop-site mode on phones can change or hide these values.
