URL Decoder
Decode your URLs
Runs in your browser Your input never leaves your device.
About this tool
Decodes percent-encoded text, the format used in URLs where a space is written as %20 and other special characters appear as %XX codes. The tool turns these back into readable characters, including UTF-8 sequences such as %C3%A9 for é, and it also converts plus signs into spaces, as form submissions and query strings do. If you decode a whole URL, characters like %2F are decoded as well, so the structure of the address can change. When the text contains an incomplete or invalid sequence, such as a lone %, the tool shows an invalid-input message. Decoding happens in your browser.
How to use it
- Paste the encoded URL or text.
- Read the decoded result.
- Copy the output.
Example
Hello%20World%21+a%2Bb
Hello World! a+b
Common problems
- Invalid URL-encoded input
- The text has a % that is not followed by two hex digits, or the codes do not form valid UTF-8. Fix or remove it.
- A plus sign became a space
- Plus is treated as a space, as in query strings. A real plus is written %2B in encoded data.
- Decoded URL looks different
- Reserved characters such as %2F and %3F turn into / and ?, which changes the meaning. Decode only the parts you need.
