About this tool
Enter a sitemap address, or just a site address to try its /sitemap.xml. Our server downloads the file and extracts every loc entry. You see whether it is a regular sitemap or a sitemap index, the total number of entries found and the first 500 URLs. It does not follow child sitemaps listed in an index, does not read robots.txt, and does not check whether the URLs respond. If you enter a site address with a path, the tool still uses the sitemap.xml at the site root. The address is sent to our server. Results are cached for about thirty minutes.
How to use it
- Enter the site address or the full sitemap URL.
- Press Load sitemap.
- Check the type and the entry count.
- If it is an index, load each child sitemap URL separately.
Common problems
- The sitemap is not found
- Your sitemap may have another name or location. Enter its full address, ideally ending in .xml.
- An index shows only sitemap files
- A sitemap index lists other sitemaps; enter each one to see its pages.
- Only 500 URLs are listed
- The count shows the true total, but the list is capped at 500.
