About this tool
This tool runs five quick checks on a page's HTML: the <html amp> or <html ⚡> attribute, the AMP runtime script from cdn.ampproject.org, a canonical link, a UTF-8 charset declaration near the top, and a viewport meta tag. The page is reported as AMP when the first two checks pass. It is a basic structural check, not the official AMP validator: it does not test the required boilerplate CSS, banned tags, custom CSS size or component usage. Our server fetches the page and reads its HTML (the first 3 MB, no JavaScript is run), so the address you enter is sent to us. Results are cached for about ten minutes.
How to use it
- Enter the address of the AMP page, with or without https://.
- Press Validate AMP.
- Read which of the five checks passed or failed.
- Fix missing items and, for a full verdict, also run the official AMP validator.
Common problems
- A valid AMP page shows failed checks
- Only five basic checks run. Validate with the official AMP validator for a complete result.
- The page is not detected as AMP
- Make sure you entered the AMP URL itself, not the canonical non-AMP version that merely links to it.
- The page cannot be fetched
- Private or internal addresses and unusual ports are refused; only ports 80, 443, 8080 and 8443 are allowed.
