About this tool
Enter the loan amount, the annual interest rate in percent and the tenure in years to see the monthly installment (EMI), the total interest and the total amount you would pay back. It uses the standard reducing-balance formula with the rate divided by 12 and the number of months equal to years times 12. With a 0% rate the loan is simply split evenly. Fees, insurance, taxes, rounding by your lender and rate changes are not included, so your lender's figure may differ slightly. Amounts are formatted with two decimals in your browser's number format. Nothing is sent to a server.
How to use it
- Enter the loan amount.
- Enter the annual interest rate as a percent, for example 12.
- Enter the tenure in years; use decimals such as 0.5 for six months.
- Read the monthly EMI, total interest and total payment.

Common problems
- No result appears
- The amount and tenure must be above zero. Enter the rate as a percent number, not a decimal fraction.
- Tenure in months
- The field is in years. Divide months by 12, for example 18 months is 1.5.
- Your lender quotes a different EMI
- Lenders may add fees, round differently or use daily balances. Treat this as an estimate.
