Check whether an email domain is on spam blacklists and has mail servers.

About this tool

Check whether an email domain has a bad reputation. The tool looks the domain up on the NordSpam and URIBL domain blocklists, and also confirms that the domain publishes MX records so it can receive mail. Enter an email address or just the domain. This checks the domain, not an individual mailbox, and it does not send any email. Lists that cannot be queried are reported as unavailable, never as clean. Spamhaus DBL is not queried because it refuses public resolvers.

How to use it

  1. Enter an email address or a domain name.
  2. Press Check.
  3. See whether the domain is listed and which mail servers (MX) it uses.

Common problems

No MX records
The domain cannot receive email as configured. Add MX records at your DNS provider.
Domain is listed
Investigate whether your domain was used in spam or has been compromised, then follow the list operator's delisting process.
