About this tool

A User-Agent is the text a browser sends to identify itself to websites. Paste one into the box and the tool breaks it down into the browser and version, the operating system, a device guess (desktop, mobile or tablet) and whether it looks like a bot or crawler. Parsing is a set of simple pattern checks that runs entirely in your browser. It recognizes Edge, Opera, Firefox, Chrome and Safari, and a handful of operating systems. For your own browser's details, the What Is My Browser tool shows your live User-Agent and more. Unknown strings show as Unknown.

How to use it

  1. Paste a User-Agent string into the box.
  2. Read the browser, OS, device and bot lines that appear.
  3. Replace the text to parse another string.
  4. To get your own string, open What Is My Browser and copy it from there.

Example

Input
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/120.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Result
Browser: Chrome 120.0.0.0
OS: Windows 10/11
Device: Desktop
Bot/crawler: No

Common problems

Windows 11 is shown as Windows 10/11
Browsers report Windows 11 as NT 10.0, so the two cannot be told apart from the string.
