PWA Manifest Generator
Create a basic web app manifest (manifest.json) from a few settings.
Runs in your browser Your input never leaves your device.
About this tool
Fill in the app name, short name, start URL, display mode (standalone, fullscreen, minimal-ui or browser), theme color and background color, and the tool outputs a manifest.json. The theme color starts at #4c3ff2 and the background at #ffffff. If you leave the short name empty it uses the name. The file also lists two placeholder icons, /icon-192.png and /icon-512.png. The tool does not create those images, so add real PNG files at those paths or edit the icon entries. It does not add fields such as scope, description or maskable icons. Everything runs in your browser.
How to use it
- Enter the app name and, optionally, a short name.
- Choose the display mode and colors.
- Copy the JSON into a file named manifest.json.
- Add the icon files and link it with <link rel="manifest" href="/manifest.json">.
Common problems
- Install prompt does not appear
- A manifest also needs real icons at the listed paths, HTTPS and, in most browsers, a service worker.
- Colors do not apply
- Use full color values such as #4c3ff2 for the theme and background colors.
- Icons are missing
- The paths /icon-192.png and /icon-512.png are placeholders; create the files or change the paths.
